Do you believe that God speaks only through scripture, does he speak to everyone all the time, or perhaps something between? Is scripture the sole source of authoritative speaking?

On the Religion Forum, in the Public Square, which is set aside for heated arguments, there is an interesting thread on the Role of Religion that started from a New York Times article on the possible evolutionary value of religious faith.
I’ve been planning to comment a bit on this on my Threads blog, but I haven’t had time. I’ve posted a bit in the thread, however.
